      Muscle gain past 50

Question for you guys over age 50. How difficult is it for you to gain muscle since hitting the big 50? To be more specific I'm talking about the guys having YEARS of training under the belt and are gear users? I'm 51 and have about 30 years under my belt along with more cycles than I can count. Muscular gain is obviously harder at this point due to age and years under the bar. Just wondering what others are experiencing.........provided sleep, nutrition and training are all in place.

fat is my problem. I seem to get as big as before. I probably couldn't get as big as quick as I used to but since I have been doing this forever big is not an issue

Well,i am well past 50 and still making gains,i just had three major surgeries, one was reconstruction elbow surgery, which had my right arm shrink from 18" to 16.5 last feb,3rd,now may 25th my arm is back up to the other arm of 17.7' each,so it has improved a lot in the last few weeks,of steady lifting,as I am now prepping for the new Englands contest in boston this oct. 29th,the last time I was on that stage was 1996 and I was 41 than.

Thanks for the input. My biggest problem seems to be the nagging injuries. That seems to sideline my gains more than anything.

Hi Pain, I don't suppose by some miracle HGH would help repair a rotator cuff tear.. I mean the actual tear its self..

man injuries are my biggest slow down to muscular gains. 40 years of powerlifting will do that.
