Question Changes in training / calisthenics

Just wondering if I am alone in this, but as I have gotten older my approach to training has changed A LOT......I alternate between free weights, resistance bands and body weight routines on a regular basis...Also, cardio is more important to me than ever.....I find advanced calisthenics, inclusive of static holds, to be my favorite routines, which my body responds to extremely well...I liken some of my routines similar to a sloth in movements....its amazing the mind / muscle connection one can feel while moving through an exercise in slow motion...

Anybody else switch up their training to include calisthenics as a major part?

Oh bro calaesthetics are a must bro I always incorporate it into my weight training. The pumps you get from pull up, push up, dip, are insane for me. You can build some muscle with just calaesthetics but of course diet is everything. I get a little creative cause I made some bad decisions in my life and in return I had to do some time in prison well a couple times. Doing calisthenics sticks with you longer even after you stop training compared to weights. You def get to a sticking point fast that's why you have to switch it up.and get creative it's about muscle confusion cause your mind already knows what your going to do before you even start. Say with pull ups I can do 20 rep for 10 sets so what I do is strap a 45lbs weight around my waist. Just my opinion calaesthetics or I must I tend to fall off sometimes cause there are so many weights and excersises I have to do in the gym but I remember what got me to that point and it's the calaesthetics. Just my 2 cents

I have been running a little lighter weight with slower more concentrated movements, my squats are slower and way deeper

I still do calisthenics, I'm 46 and see guys my age who can't walk up stairs with out getting winded. And pull ups and burpees are a nice change. Weights m-w-f, light run t-th-s. On Sunday I go into strait fat boy mode and don't do a dam thing.

same here!! Sunday's are family day, no training, unless its summer time, then I enjoy swimming laps...A friend of mine gave me a pair of aquatic gloves, great workout swimming around like aqua man...
