SAN ANTONIO - A Texas State student just returned to San Antonio from halfway across the world, after winning a massive title.
Ryan Carrillo, 21, was just named the IPF Junior Super Heavyweight World Bench Press Champion in Lithuania.
The heavy lifting title was earned when he benched 633 pounds, which was more than any of the other 11 lifters from nine countries.
633 pounds is about the equivalent of two refrigerators.
"It wasn't easy. It was grinder," said Ryan Carrillo. "It was probably about a 15-second lift. The crowd went wild so I earned it."
Carillo said his hands hurt the day after he lifted all that weight. Now that he's home, he said he'll have some beer and get some sleep.
This guy is only a few miles from me,I would like to see his workout.
