Front squats changed my life. Got rid of all my back problems ... wish I discovered them sooner (I used to do them, but with the arms-crossed way and hated them and never did them). Slowly working on getting the shoulder mobility to do overhead squats. I'd avoid Sissy Squats ... seems like a good way to destroy your knees.
what exactly is a sissy squat?
I love front squats. Back squats irritate certain areas of my hamstrings and lower back whereas front squats do not. Plus, you get the added benefit of targeting mostly the quadriceps
Interesting & great post flathead. I train jiu jitsu so I'm always looking for ways to increase explosive strength. Thanks.
Very nice thread.. Thanks for taking the time
If you consider high-bar squats a variation then that's gotta be my #1, that or paused squats seem to help a lot for me. I used to love front squatting but one I broke 315 I could never seem to get the bar to stay behind my front delts, I even tried using straps and the barbell still slips.
Taking in all this information to actually look at what i need to tweak in the gym.
