Masters competitors
How many masters competitors are there on this board?...I competed in an uspa meet last year at age 60...first meet in almost 20 years...my bench is approximately 100 pounds less at 60 than it was at 40...

I just turned 56, and have competed at 3 meets at 54 and 55 years old. I'm doing some hypertrophy stuff at the moment but plan to compete again after the new year.

I was preparing for a uspa meet in October and tweeked a pec...(I had a bad pec tear in 2004)...I have retweeked it and have now taken a full 3 weeks off...I just turned 61 and strained it after a single with 315...it was a down set with 225 that hurt me...getting old sucks!

I competed 3 times in my 20s between bb comp. Focused solely on poweflifting from 45 until 57. Did probably 60+ meets. Ended with 14 masters world titles with 28 world records. Best single ply meet lifts were 830 lb. squat. 600 bench. 622 deadl Iift. 2006 total. Training now for a comeback after 65. Present numbers are humbling but I'm loving the challenge!

Competed in BB for the last 8 years. I’m 54. Going to try for my pro card at 55. We’ll see how health is.

Compete in masters and Open, have to give those young bucks something to fight for. Made it to Mr O last year, placed 4th, received an invite for Mr.O this year but the date changed so much that I was not able to compete.. compete in Powerlifting USPA..
