Ever have one of those days where you know you’re not gonna get a damn thing done in the gym? Today was that day for me. Spent 8 hours shoveling mulch yesterday followed by a pretty late night. Could have easily skipped the gym and gone tomorrow but I said screw that. I showed up and I put in work.
Comp squat 515lb for 2,2,2,3
Leg press 840lb for 8,8,8
Sumo deadlifts 425lb for 5x3
Decline sit-ups
Ham curls
My legs and back are so wrecked that it hurts to move. I’m gonna earn this deload next week.
Wifey kicked ass today too.
Squat 255lb for 5,5,5,4
Pause squat 195lb for 3x8
Deadlift 275lb for 3x3
Side bends
Seated ham curls

The missus got a banging ass shirt in from RC1 today....it says Discipline over Motivation.
I gotta say, I dig that. And it was definitely one of those days. First run on phen yesterday had a brotha up all night and still made it in to a killer leg day.
Keep grinding man....let your discipline fuel other peoples motivation!

Bicep tendons are starting to act up today. Had a decent workout but I definitely am ready for my deload next week. Been pretty tired all day today and my appetite has been shit. Picked up some digestive enzymes and hoping this will help. I’m assuming it’s the tren as it’s the highest I’ve ever gone on it.
Comp bench 365lb for 1,1,3
Skipped incline DB to save my bicep tendons
Barbell rows 335lb for 6,6,6,6,8
V-bar pushdowns 110lb for 3x10
Side raises 30lb for 3x12

Missed my post yesterday so I’ll double up today. It’s been a long exhausting week and I’m officially on my deload. Had a killer deadlift workout last night and hit a huge rep PR on sumo. Today’s accessory bench workout was a surprisingly solid lift.
Friday:
Sumo deadlift 585lb for 1,1,6
SSB good mornings 305lb for 6,6,9
Pause squat 430lb for 3,4,7
Side bends
Leg extensions
Saturday:
Close grip bench 330lb for 3,3,5
Overhead press 205lb for 4,4,6
Pulldown 200lb for 6,6,7
Barbell rows 315lb for 6,6,8
Decline sit-ups
Skullcrushers
I’m going to be incredibly bored next week doing half weight and half reps but I know it’s necessary for recovery and strength increase. I will come back much stronger in 2 weeks.

So this week is deload week. While this may look boring it is a much needed part in not only strength training but also hypertrophy based training. Your body can only take so much of a beating before it stops responding. The idea behind a deload is to give the body a chance for some active recovery. That typically means you’re going to do half the weight for about half the reps. Throughout my deload leg workout yesterday I could feel my muscles slowly react to the lower weight and loosen up. I was in the gym for less than 30 min then back home for my usual mobility work.

There it is....half the weight for half the reps. I wonder how the hell to properly deload.
And this is for one week typically?

Typically one week will do it. Some need less than that. It all depends on the volume you’ve been doing and for how long. During hypertrophy phases I like to do a half week deload every 8 weeks or so. Or when my body tells me it’s time.
