What about your deadlift form was holding you back? Personally my lower back has some alignment issues so I struggle training really hard conventional with any sort of volume. Every rep is a risk of injury and the slightest deviation from perfect form can set me back weeks. I’ve gotta train sumo 95% of the time but luckily I’ve found it transfers over incredibly well to conventional.
