Thor Bjornsson, current worlds strongest man and only 29 years old at over 400lb. We were discussing this in my meet prep log as well! While having extra weight will help with leverage, the trend is shifting towards the mindset that fatter doesn’t necessarily equal stronger in these types of competitions.

The reason prime and I brought this up actually is because we were talking about how the powerlifters on BOP are a great example of how u can still look good and be strong. So props to u guys

Violator on here is good example as well. Brothas got 7.3%bf and benches damn near 500 and dl's over 600. Eddie Hall and Svickas both have 6 packs now as well.

Kaneman is legit as wall
Eddie hall and svickas look great now but they both down sized after competing. Both still strong as fuck tho. Svickas looks like a completely different person

Yeah Svickas does look completely different. Crazy how all that extra weight changes how your face looks so drastically. I remember watching Marius compete when I was young and always wondered why he looked so different from everyone else. lol. Thor is super impressive to me. Damn near 7 ft tall and 400 pounds with a six pack. Epitome of a viking, imagine a couple dozen dudes like him jumping off a boat and raiding your town. lol

A buddy and I were literally just talking about this the other day. How we noticed a huge trend in the real big strongmen and powerlifters are getting a lot leaner. Larry Wheels was one of the ones we really zoned in on. He's got a BB show soon and he's still able to squat 900, and almost deadlift 922 (couldn't lock out).

Derek poundstone
Throw up some pics of strongmen u guys like!
These guys could arguably do a bodybuilding show and be rather successful.
Like we were discussing earlier man, I don’t understand the logic of fat equating to strength. It’s pretty contradicting. In sports it was always bigger, stronger, faster.. no fatter lol. And the guys like Thor & Eddie who have ‘leaned’ down even say how much better they feel and they perform the same if not better being leaner.

Larry Wheels is sick man. Freaky strong and is lean as fuck. I think he’s a better power lifter then BB but it’s impressive how he can cross between both and be competitive
