You’re stimulating the vagus nerve. Sometimes when we go on calls and someone’s heart rate is racing, we will have them bear down like taking a big dump. You have to be careful though. We always have them on a cardiac monitor and oxygen ready to go before we have them do anything. I’ve done it on squats. Gotta learn to breath brother. Eddie Hall has done it several times on his heavy deads. I’ve never had that problem before because my deads aren’t even half of his.
