New to Powerlifting. Not lifting.
Well, been lifting for about 10 years. Currently 30 years old, 230lbs at 11% bf. Never tried power lifting but recently switched gyms and it's predominantly powerlifters, so obviously I am interested. Looking for some good recommendations on programs. I have searched alot and am familiar with alot of the more popular ones. But would.live to hear what's worked for you guys. I am not super strong. These guys in the gym pull 600+ squat 700+ ect. I tried to find where I am at. Currently have a 395 Bench, 455 Dead, and 465 squat. I know it's bad, but that's why I am here. I have done mainly a push pull bodybuilding type of routine.

I'm sitting around 1500 total
My routine is lift heavy as fuck up to a 2rm
Then 5x3 or 5x2 on heavy accessories
Ex. Front squat or close grip bench
Then I do health accessories like hip flexor, core stability and rotator cuff exercises.
don't beat it till you try it

Dude those numbers arent anything to be ashamed of! Word of advice, don't try to keep up with the guys who have been doing it for years right off the bat.
I did bodybuilding for 20yrs then 1 year ago I switched to strongman due to a guy at the gym always pestering me. I went all in and had some injury issues due to not strenghthening my ligaments to handle the different implements of stones/logs/tires etc..
Work those accessory muscles, specially around the shoulders. It'll come, just got to give it some time, 5x5 training and a slew of others are all good options.
