Getting into power lifting at 45 years old never did

Hello as the title says I was thiking about this,

Thing is I hear about what guys in the 270-300lbs lift and my lifts are not even close to many. I wonder if its practical. I mean my best ever lifts are 400lbs on the bench, 550 deadlift and 475 squat. i never ran a power lifting program but did do the MM2k bench program that really helped. I was curious of what kind of increases could be typical. I am on TRT and do two blasts per year but fairly mild and have only been test only. Also all those lifts are raw and not with the commands like the pause at the top and bottom of hte bench or squat. I also wonder if the shirts, suits and stuff make it way too expensive but i was told that there are raw divisions.

I know bodybuilding at the competitive level is not going to be for me so i thought of strongman and power lifting. Now I do like to look good but the eating clean is fine bt the fluid manipulation and the like just likely would not be for me. I will never say never thought.

Start by doing a local meet...full meet, push pull, bench only raw...it's a start...

It’s never to late to start. Have you found any powerlifting gyms close by? Also keep an eye out for the next powerlifting event in your area. That’ll be the best place to talk to guys in the local scene to help get you started.

Dude, based on your numbers you have a 1400 total...in the 45-49 age group you could easily win your class in a local meet...

Thanks. Seeems guys oftne are benching much more and that is a best number. I am lower after covid but it comes back real fast as we know lol. I thought my squat sucked but i used to lift a gym in my 20s and most of the power lifters even natural guys seemed to be in the 600-700 on squats. I alwys figured i could have a shot with the bench and my dead lift was pretty good plus the "commands" ont eh deadlift seam the easiest since there is no "pause" Appreicate it. I thougth i was ike leaps and bounds behind.
