      Rep question

Should I do a few sets of the same weight or work up to one heavy set? I'm doing heavier multi-joint movements but am leery of not making progress by doing with three or four sets at one set working weight.

I personally like to alternate each week with different w/o's. I never keep the same w/o two weeks in a row. One week is heavy as hell 1-4 reps. Working up to a working weight 4 sets of that weight. Then all my other lifts (flys, cables, etc) Next week might be a pyramid to 2 rep max, 3rd week all db's . I personally just try to alaways shock the muscle group I am working. Seems to be working for me. I still get pretty sore even on cycle. I tend to stick with the basics for legs though heavy as hell always.. no mercy

you want to add more restistance,as in weight, with each set bro.you dont want to stay with the same weight although your sets.an example would be for 3 sets of bench is:225x10-235x8-240x6.You have to increase your poundage if you want to get strong!

You are better off doing more than one set and then that one heavy set you are asking about, going ahead and doing it anyways after your lighter sets!
