In many countries it's legal. The USA is over regulated by codes and dictated by case law.

If it was legal and controlled it would probably cut down on disease, and def on arrests related to it. Which means less people in jail and less sick people. But we are just starting to get weed legalized, I think prostitution is a ways away. But look at the countries where these thing are legal, they all have lower crime rates.

They have lower crime rates because they don't arrest for victimless crimes. IMHO if you don't harm anyone else you shouldn't be convicted of Victimless i.e. drugs, hookers, steroids ect... unfortunately we need people in prison to provide free labor and revenue for the legal and justice system.
