Ex-Arlington Police Officer Facing Federal Count For Steroids Ring

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A fired North Texas police officer accused of protecting an alleged drug dealer and helping sell anabolic steroids to department personnel has been indicted by a federal grand jury.

Ex-Arlington police officer Thomas Kantzos is facing one count of exceeding authorized access to a protected computer. Authorities allege Kantzos improperly used a police computer to help tip off his steroids dealer.

Kantzos, who had been with the force since 1995, was fired after his arrest last month.

Investigators say Kantzos, who’s free on bond, used police databases to slip information to an alleged dealer and helped arrange steroids sales to other officers.

If convicted, Kantzos faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Two other police officers had been implicated in the steroid investigation. David Vo was arrested for allegedly buying and distributing illegal steroids, and his arrest was enough to convince the department that there was likely a wider problem. Vo committed suicide after bonding out of jail. Officer Craig Harmons remains on administrative leave under suspicion of being involved in the case.

Fuck them. A badge doesn't exempt them from shit. I have friends in Arlington, good ones, so I am there often. These same scum would toss me in jail first time that catch me riding dirty with gear.

Funny thing is, Ronnie Coleman was a cop on the Arlington police force for quite some time before he went completely pro. I met him at a rodeo at the Fort Worth stock yards once and he was in complete uniform. They are going to look at this dude (and believe me, until you see him up close and in person you don't know how big he is) day in and day out and not give the notion that he uses steroids a second thought? For all I know, Coleman is what started the steroid thing on that police force. Fucking LE (with the exception of Ronnie, of course).
