Man at Center of Steroid Investigation Formally Charged

DOWNTOWN JACKSON -- A Jackson man who was indicted on multiple drug charges last week appeared in court on Monday to be formally charged.
Brigham Jaynes, 24, was arraigned on four counts of Sale and Delivery of Schedule III Drugs.
His charges came after a 7-month investigation involving the distribution and sale of illegal steroids.
Investigators say steroids -- both pills and injectables -- marijuana, ***** and a loaded shotgun were found at his home during his arrest..
Jaynes is free on $10,000 bond.

The Madison County grand jury returned a four-count indictment charging Brigham Jaynes, 102 Henderson Road in Jackson, with the sale and delivery of Schedule III illegal steroids.The case was presented to the grand jury April 28.
Investigators with the Jackson Police Gang Enforcement Team, Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Investigators, Special Agents from the West Tennessee Judicial Violent Crime and Drug Task Force 28th, 29th and 30th Judicial Districts, and Medina police department participated in the investigation, which began September 2013.
During the investigation, investigators conducted several undercover buys from Brigham Jaynes and purchased illegal schedule III steroids from him during the buys.
A search warrant was also issued for Brigham Jaynes residence, where investigators recovered various types of illegal schedule III steroids during the search.
Jaynes has more charges pending and is being held without bond until Monday when he will go before the Madison County Circuit Court for his arraignment.
