More than $1 million worth of drugs confiscated by police
By Caitlin Rearden, Eyewitness News November 14, 2012 ARVIN, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- The Arvin Police Department confiscated more than $1 million worth of anabolic steroids from a house in the 500 block of Peace St. Wednesday morning.
Lt. Olan Armstrong says the department received a call from a district attorney investigator who was working on an unrelated case. He said he saw what he believed was a large amount of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia at the residence.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers said they seized 1,547 bottles of capsules of steroids and 1,107 vials of liquid valued at approximately $1.36 million on the street. Investigators also said they found guns, mailing supplies, syringes, empty vials, measuring equipment, and beakers at the property.
No arrests have been made, but police have named a person of interest. He's identified as 29-year old Michael Breitel. He is described as being about 5-foot 6-inches tall, 210 pounds with short red hair and hazel eyes. Police believe there are more suspects involved.
Until Sunday, the residence had been unoccupied.
