WESTERLY — A Hope Valley man was charged Sunday with six counts of felony possession of steroids.

Christopher C. Lentini, 32, of 166 Woodville Road, was arrested after police were called to the Aqua Star motel last August regarding a call for two suicidal subjects in a room and found drugs later determined to be steroids.

Police said they entered the room and found Lentini and a woman. In the bathtub, police saw what they described as a black bag with syringes, vials of liquids and numerous prescription bottles in it. An ambulance was called for the woman, whom Lentini said had tried to slit her wrists to commit suicide earlier in the day. Lentini was released pending tests on the contents of the bag.

Results from the Rhode Island Forensic Science Laboratory indicated the steroid to be testosterone enanthate.

Lentini was arrested Sunday, processed at the Westerly police station and will be arraigned in 4th Division District Court.
