Let me tell you, as someone who brewed, sold, and injected AAS for a decade, MANY MANY MANY men do this type of uninformed, detrimental cycle. I’m not exaggerating when I say hundreds of men asked me thousands of questions about things I thought, “Wait, you really think this is okay?”

Instead of raking the guy who wrote this post over the coals (and in spite of the fact that there may be some exaggeration - a writer’s prerogative) what might be more mature is to understand that that majority of men who engage in body modification through chemical assistance do so almost completely in the dark. Although this site is a safe haven and a amazing asset, it is still full of well-intended but 100% anecdotal advice that constantly contradicts, combines bro-science with consumer-science (note I didn’t say empirical evidence-based science) and encourages sometimes unhealthy behavior to gain an aesthetic, and in more limited ways physiological, rewards. You are correct, his choice seems pretty idiotic, right? That’s because - for the most part - the web is filled with idiotic advice that allows users to draw pretty idiotic conclusions about life choices. I can almost guarantee you the poster had someone tell him it was okay to do that dumb shit. Someone that he trusted, or someplace that he had no other choice but to trust.

Let me be clear: If 1000 humans use AAS, there are 1000 different reasons for their use, and 1000 different stories, pieces of advice, and bits of clashing evidence. Cleaning up all this confusion is one reason why I believe AAS should not be illegal. How can we have a true discussion and measure benefits and drawbacks when the drugs are stigmatized legally and culturally? It’s a shame. And it causes us to shame ourselves when we are confused and go down the wrong road, as this guy (Pain) did.

But this guy - this writer who posted about his struggle and temporary deafness - was just relating his story in his way. You heard it in a way that offended you, but from the looks of most response posts, you were in the minority. In reality, the steroids probably did not cause his deafness, but they are know to cause many, many detrimental side effects (as well as some pretty amazing positive effects).

Your sarcasm shows your lack of humanity, and your inability to see the entire economy of what the poster was saying shows your lack of reading comprehension. Finally, your judgement shows your lack of empathy. If only there was a powder we could illegally import from China (or Vietnam, or Thailand, or - yes, even - Syria and Russia) that could be injected to fix those things. But then again, those would probably become illegal, too.

Yea I’m pretty sure pain was just posting a story from the internet. My comments were directed toward the actual guy of the story, not Pain.
