Great article did you compile a top 10 list?
I use pre daily and over the last few years does not matter what intake I feel nothing to very little just purchased kill it 5% nutrition as it was on sale. Nothing at all from 2 scoops. Would you recommend just stopping for a month? If I had more knowledge would make my own as this gets expensive...

I haven’t taken a pre workout in close to 10 years. I’ve stayed away from it. I’m thinking of giving it a try again. I usually workout after work so I need something that doesn’t last several hours. I wanna go to bed. Also is there one that just kinda gives off a clean energy and focus? I’m not trying to be the kool-aid man and bust through walls.

Sorry about the late reply. Yes you need a break to increase your sensitivity. I would have 1 month off all caffeine. There are products I am sure you would feel though but still get your sensitivity back first. Have you tried any DMHA or DMAA based pre workouts? I will compile an updated pre workout list with ratings in the next few days and post it.

A good starter would be The Curse by Cobra Labs. The label is crap but it performs very well. 50 servings per tub. Start at 1 scoop and work up. 2 scoops should give you a great boost. It's also just caffeine based and not very strong so you should be fine. Although if you are sensitive any product could stay with you especially the first week of using. We also have a different response to caffeine and it's in our genes. Some process it quicker than others with the slower ones needing approx 8 hours for it to clear their system. The Curse should be great for you though so if you try it out let me know how it goes.

When using preworkouts regularly I believe sensitivity can be a major factor but not in every circumstance. A good example is me using Goku Gains recently. That contains DMHA and it's one of only 2 products I have now that contain it. When I was using DMHA 4-5 days per week Goku Gains felt very ordinary. Nothing spectacular about it but still a solid product. But when using the likes of Excelsior and Reign and adding it in I felt nothing special and it felt quite mild.
Move forward approx 1 month of using mainly caffeine based (no DHMA) pre workouts and I decide to use Goka Gains again. It hit me so hard unlike any caffeine based product (unless you dose super high). One of those times I thought it was too much but once I started training I was gtg. I saw my mate in the gym and he came over and spoke to me and I was so wired I could barely hold a conversation. I have since used Goku Gains twice more and it's effects have lessened each time. Just one example I have showing how sensitivity can play into things.
It's like some of the lower dosed stimulant products on the market. I bet if you used one of those in the middle of a 2 month DMAA/DMHA run it would feel very weak. Add one in after 2 months off all stimulants and it will be totally different. It's also why you have to take a bad stimulant junkies opinion on preworkouts with a grain of salt. Some guys can take 800mg caffeine and not feel much because they abuse stimulants every day. Everyone has a different response but if someone is taking 2 scoops of a strong preworkout and not feeling it you know they probably have a massive tolerance. My tolerance is quite high so many would struggle with 1 scoop of many products I use whereas others may need double. I think once people start needing 1.5+ servings of strong products that's when they should definitely be having breaks to improve sensitivity.
Eria Jarensis is a useful ingredient in many newer preworkouts. Useful but nowhere near the strength of DMHA or one of it's natural forms such as Juglans Regia. I used Musclerage's Limitless recently and it's good but not overly powerful for someone with a higher tolerance. Limitless contains:

Today I used 1.5 scoops of Nutrabio's Pre so a big dose of caffeine. It felt good and I had a great workout. My 5% Nutrition's 5150 has about 1 serving left and that is one of my favs. Dymatize's preworkout doesn't have the same kick it once had but still a solid product.
I used Goku Gain's again and it definitely drives down my blood glucose. I crashed hard from it and went to bed after eating cereal. Literally 3 hours after taking 350mg caffeine plus all it's other stims (including DMHA) I was exhausted. I woke up in the middle of the night going hypo. It's only ever DMHA preworkouts that do this to me.
I am definitely in need of some new products and I plan to order a few very soon. I will try some brand new products and will update the thread with which ones I pick.

I have been using My Protein's caffeinated EAA's recently. It's a very old tub and I believe they have changed the formula. I use 4 scoops intra which is 300mg caffeine and it works great. I haven't tried a big serving pre workout but it could be used as one if needed. Just straight caffeine but it feels strong. Drinking it intra is a great way to keep energy levels high even after your workout. So ideal for guys who go to work afterwards or just need the energy. Sometimes if I take a pre workout and train really hard my energy levels crash post workout and not because of the crash from the stimulants but a combination of factors. I have to be careful not taking these EAA's too late as the energy really stays with me and one night I couldn't sleep.
Tomorrow I will go over all the new products I have ordered and plan to try out soon. It's a combination of pump only, nootropics and high stimulant so a good mix of different things.

I like myprotein.com whey isolate, EEA’s preworkout, BCAA’s intraworkout, and 5-10
grams creatine w post workout simple carbs.

Your list is top notch. I am not sure if its been mentioned yet but for some reason when I take Ghost per workout i feel it kick it hard. Especially after taking a little break from it. It’s on the pricey side but its one I like along with almost all mentioned on here as well.

Definitely want to see how you like alpha lion. Looked at it a few times, but never tried it. I used pure power for a while. It has been one of the better ones for me.
