Modafinil (provigil)

Anyone ever tried modafinil?? For increased awareness/energy/focus???

If so how does it compare to caffeine? Better?

I've been taking 100mg of Modafinil twice per week for the last 2 weeks. Had never taken it previously.

I don't think you can really compare it to caffeine. At least not at the dose I was taking. It was much more subtle, more like increased mental clarity and an ability to rip through what would normally be boring/tedious tasks like book keeping and taxes with an increased attention to detail. But without the physical energy and jitteriness increase that you can really feel with a solid dose of caffeine.

My brother takes 200mg and seems to get more out of it for longer than I do.

I probably won't be taking it much longer. I'm trying to eliminate substances not add more. I was trying to use the Modaf to help me get through long term opioid withdrawals. If you're going to try it, my advice would be to start low at 100mg, don't take it more than 2 times per week, and don't take it within 10 hours of when you want to be able to fall asleep.

It is way better than coffee! More alert and sociable without the jittery effects of coffee and no crash for me. I love the stuff. Its hit or miss for people, some it works for and some it doesn't.

I got mine last week. only got to dose twice. 1st time it made me calm and peaceful. I went home a took an awesome 2 hour nap 2 hours after taking it and woke up felling peaceful. 2nd time felt nothing but had gotton a Stomach flu that day so marbe didnt digest it properly. I personally like ******** more but cant take narcotics anymore.

That's exactly what I'm looking for something similar or better than coffee or caffeine but without the cracked out jittery feeling!

I like it much more than using Thermo's to keep me going and it doesn't give me the jitters like thermos do although does give me the 'eyes wide, wide open' feeling. The best I can describe is for me it's a very clean, energetic and motivated feeling. Love the stuff!!
