A good amount of pregnenolone is made in the testes, cholesterol–>pregnenolone and you can see why very low cholesterol levels would be a problem.
Pregnenolone is made by the mitochondria in all of your cells in your body. This requires several inputs. CoQ10 is essential and made in the liver. Mitochondria create ATP, the universal currency of cellular energy and the level of activity is your metabolic rate and determines body temperature.
Your body regulates all of this via thyroid hormone fT3 that as part of the body temperature control loop.
The point is that your thyroid function has a lot of leverage on ATP and pregnenolone production and your fT3 and fT3 levels are low and low body temperatures are expected.
Low thyroid function can easily be a result of....
Lack of blood sugar control
Low glycogen storage
Stress and high cortisol
Low mineral storage
So thyroid hormone conversion is a major factor for cholesterol to pregnenolone.
You need to take these thyroid issues seriously.
Most will say take pregnenolone when on TRT as you won’t produce it anymore. You will! You just have to support thyroid hormone conversion.
Thyroid hormone helps support cholesterol helps support pregnenolone production.
