Okay so if this new endocrinologist has half a brain he’s going to look at you, then look at your labs, then realize you use AAS. (At least, that’s what happened to me. Although I live in NYC, and let’s just say my endo has seen much worse than some dude using AAS.)

Let me first say that everyone deals with this differently: some men don’t (and can’t) tell their docs that they use AAS. I understand that. It is illegal to use AAS, and admitting use could (possibly) put you at risk for - at the very least - an awkward conversation with your endo, or - at most - a potential legal threat (although that’s highly unlikely).

But if your labs come back abnormal, that poor doc is going to go crazy trying to figure out why, while you hold the answer! Regardless, really think about how you want to handle going to the endo and also using AAS. Sometimes honestly is a little less stressful, but I don’t know your situation. And all this talk about honesty - you don’t have to tell him EVERYTHING. I’ve seen my endo while cycling on test, tren, deca, EQ, Mast, and various other things. I usually just say, “...lots of test and tren,” or “....lots of test and deca.” REmember, even good endo docs aren’t steroid specialists. I’ve got a great one, and he’s more accepting and knowledgable than most, but he still wouldn’t know a vial of masteron if it hit him upside the head.

Androgel is terrible. Like someone else mentioned, tell your doc you play sports and sweat a lot and it’s not for you. You’ve got to get a doc to give you a diagnosis of hypogonadism. Then, since you have insurance, your bi-weekly injections will be covered except for your co-pay. I have also done the pellet - I really, really like it. Takes care of everything for 9-12 weeks. And it’s also covered if you have the right diagnosis. It takes a bit getting used to (don’t do squats for a day or two following the implant) but it’s a good alternative. I usually do the pellet half the year, and then bi-weekly injections the other half of the year.

Anyhow, if you’re going to do at least 2 long-ish cycles per year (which is what I do), at some point your labs are going to throw your docs for a loop. Or you’re going to be eternally stressed trying to figure out your timing regarding going to the doc, getting labs done, and cycling. I don’t know if any of this is helpful, but lots of us are going through what your going through. Just saying I feel your pain.

Update to my endocrinologist visit. He ordered blood work.CBC,free t4,prolactin,total get and cortisol. He did ask about how long I’ve had hypogonadism, if I had any health trauma (mental, physical or emotional).Of course steroid use as well. I did tell him about my extensive use of androstene use in the late 90’s,my lack of cycling off it. My mental and emotional crap I went through when things ended badly with my daughters mom. I did not mention my ped use, which I regret.Like jack of spades said, I should be up front and honest about it. I will mention it to him on my follow up.He did also check my testicals and said they were small normal.Which is normal for being hypogonadal. My doctor has me doing one pump of the Android gel a day,the endo wants me to do two because of my size.Hopefully I can get him to change my prescription to injections as I do sweat a lot at work .I have a follow up in a month, will keep you guys posted then.

Tell him your around kids and females a lot and you can’t take a chance with the gel. Also, tell him injectable cypionate is cheaper co-pay w/ or w/o insurance and that you would like to try that instead. Make it a money issue and that you would like steady T levels. Agree to all bloodwork and follow ups. He may do your first injections in office if your not familiar w/ self injection. Just IME, Test cypionate for TRT is far better than gels, creams, patches, oral, pellets and sublingual. It is also economical for people w/o insurance. If you have incredible insurance, I would ask for AVEED. Download the paperwork for your MD online @ aveedusa.com - It costs $1,231 for one 3ml
Injection pack without insurance. It is 750mg Test undecanoate 3ml vial. They do the injection in office and the another each month.

Maybe get an in-network sports doc. They usually sympathize with gear users since many of their clients are athletes that use gear.

Thanks for the input guys, I will definitely look into getting a sports doctor. One thing I forgot to add is that the endo is asking for all my lab work records to see the history of my hormon levels. I have always been off gear for at least two months prior to drawing blood for my doctor. I do get blood work done during and post cycle to see how things are working. I doubt there will be a clue to my gear usage, but I will confess to the endo about it.
