I’m recovering from my 3rd spinal cord injury and have gotten back to the gym. Medications have taken there toll on me (Gabbapentin and others). I’ve looked into TRT therapy , trying to improve my strength and mood. I just turned 50 and I’ve always had high cholesterol , ( off the charts, now with meds between 350 and 500). I’m eating pretty clean and try to exercise, but pain limits me. Dr. doesn’t want to prescribe TRT until I can get my cholesterol lower. Part of it is genetic. I’ve always been really active, grew up on a dairy and roofed for nearly 30 years. Major snowmobile and auto wrecks have also taken there toll. Once again, I believe the drugs have taken there toll. I have energy and constant pain. Neighbor is on TRT and he swears by the way he feels. Guys in his early 40’s and go’s. He’s also pretty built. Id like to figure out away around these Dr.’s. Any suggestions? I’m just really auguring in.
