      TRT replacement question

Im starting to look into TRT replacement and looking for a good article to read up on. looking around the site to find if someone wrote some info on these topics?

      - do you start this conversation with your primary doctor first?
      - do you need to tell them you have lower sex drive, anxiety, less energy?
      - i looked into a clinic that is about 150-200$ month for everything, but i would prefer to have insurance pay for it.
      - do you just set up an appointment with your local urologist and hope you find a cool one, that is willing to work with you and your future health results.
      - i heard and read that most doctors are just about the number and if you are in the 200- 600 range at age 40 that is what the medical field views are responsible what is bullshit
      - i would love to be in a range from 750-850 is this reasonable?
      - I have not had my range pulled in years. i was at 600 a few years back, so im guessing a bit lower now.

Contact Endo and get bloods. From there you will see if you need it or not.

But make sure diet and lifestyle are locked in. TRT isn’t fairy dust.

Some docs dose high and most dose low. They have no clue. Take what you get and be creative with the rest.

My primary doc sent me to a urologist. Who’s super cool and let’s me hang around the 1200 range as long as I keep my E in range. He’s very adamant about that.

Look up the effects of low T in men and memorize it.

Probably. But GPs don't know shit about replacement therapy. So you'll probably get referred out.

      - do you need to tell them you have lower sex drive, anxiety, less energy?

Yes. A good doc is going to look at a variety of factors, not just your test numbers.

      - i looked into a clinic that is about 150-200$ month for everything, but i would prefer to have insurance pay for it.

If you have insurance, the cost would run much cheaper than that, pending which type of delivery you use (injections, gel, pellet).

      - do you just set up an appointment with your local urologist and hope you find a cool one, that is willing to work with you and your future health results.

Unfortunately, this process can be trial and error. Yep, you gotta hope you get a good one. Ask around. But I found urologists much better and much more open about TRT than GPs.

      - i heard and read that most doctors are just about the number and if you are in the 200- 600 range at age 40 that is what the medical field views are responsible what is bullshit

If you're not experiencing any other symptoms of low-t, 600 is an acceptable number. Anecdotally, I've been on replacement therapy for a long time (I'm 46) and if I hold steady at 600ish I feel great. What you may be implying is that all men react differently to replacement therapy, so doctors who adhere too strictly to a range of acceptable numbers sometimes fail to take into account the fallibility of the scale or the variety of factors which may indeed point toward the need for individual replacement therapy.

      - i would love to be in a range from 750-850 is this reasonable?

It's reasonable, but is there something specific about this range that would be beneficial to you? If you don't want docs to be hung up on a number, you shouldn't be, either. No disrespect meant, but I'm unclear about your symptoms, health, therapy goals, and testosterone experience. So it seems you have selected numbers at random.

      - I have not had my range pulled in years. i was at 600 a few years back, so im guessing a bit lower now.

Probably. But a lower number doesn't always justify a need. That's why other factors (such as mentioned in your second bullet point) are critical.

Just ignore me if you've already thought about what I'm about to say here, but starting replacement therapy means you may need to be on it forever. Without sounding too weird about it, it's a bumpy journey in the beginning. Sometimes it's a bumpy journey all the time, no matter how long you've been doing it Don't get discouraged but try to be honest and clear about why you want it and if you can sustain it.

If you have good insurance, you can go straight to an endocrinologist or urologist.

Otherwise your primary care doctor will have to refer you.

I am not a veteran by any means, im going to get my levels tested next week to see where they are. im looking for TRT for a boost as I get older. As I have gotten older im just noticing recovery time and inflammation has increased. last spring I ran my first cycle of straight Test E 500 - 600 EW for 12 weeks and i felt great. im just looking to maintain my fitness level and maybe just add a little muscle each year. Im 40 now and im not jumping into anything at all. im just starting the process on asking questions and gathering information for my decision in the future. I love to do lots of research and ask lots of vets questions before i make a decision. I will not get on TRT until I have done years of research, talk on this site and to doctors.

      stats are
      40 years old
      185 - 188 lbs
8-12% body fat year round. maybe get to 15% in winter if bulking
      athletic build
      squat 405+
      bench 315
      Dead 475
play lots of sports and love to keep active.

Was going to run a 12 week cycle again in the spring.
Test E 600MG week (one shot in the quad)
week 4 start Anavar 50mg ED till the end
      PCT nolvadex
      40mg ED for 2 weeks
20 mg ED for 2 weeks
