TRT ACNE TREATMENT
I've been on TRT for just under 2 years. Before that, I would run 2 or 3 cycles per year and PCT. About 6-8 months ago I began to experience what I would consider moderate cystic acne on my shoulders and back. In the past, when I would cycle for 12 to 18 weeks, the acne I experienced was mild, not cystic and would subside after PCT. What I'm now dealing with on TRT is not going away. I have tried all the common OTC treatments with very little success. I couple months ago I switched my TRT protocol to micro dosing Test P daily. I had a favorable response in decreasing the severity of the acne and I thought that I had found my solution. However, the acne began to come back. A few weeks ago my face began to break out and that was a deal breaker for me. I was willing to deal with some body acne to remain on TRT but my face was a line I was not willing to cross.
With much reluctance I saw a dermatologist. I never went this route in the past because I knew there ultimate solution would to put me on a regiment of antibiotics. And my fears were confirmed when he recommended Doxycycline. I have taken Doxycycline in the past for various infections when it was absolutely necessary and did not fare well on it. I experienced loss of appetite, upset stomach, diarrhea and felt like total shit. The doctor explained that there is a new low dose, extended release Doxycycline (ORACEA ) which people tolerate much better. He explained that at 40mg, Doxycycline does not have the same antibacterial impact on your digestive track and at that dosage most of the drugs efficacy comes from it's anti inflammatory properties Safety and efficacy of doxycycline in the treatment of rosacea I decided to start the treament 5 days ago and so far so good. At this point, if I was taking regular strength Doxycycline, I would be feeling like shit and experiencing diarrhea. I have had no side effects at all and have seen the redness around the acne lesions beginning to lighten up. It is very early on but I'm feeling good about the treatment so far. I will update in a couple days if there is anything of note to mention.

I went thru a similar experience recently. I took different types of over the counter stuff but none of it helped. Never went to a dermatologist. I stopped the extra stuff I was taking on top of my trt and it improved but the acne was still popping up just not as bad but still bad. I eventually stopped everything I was doing due too very bad pip from some test I had ordered from a sponsor here that it no longer here.. its cleared up but I now have a lot of dark spots all over my body from where the acne was but they are slowly going away.. It sucks cuz I usually don't where a shirt at home or at work cuz it can get hot af in AZ working outside ... Anyway I feel for you.. Good luck and I hope it clears up right away.

I’ve been cruising 125of test e E3D since December and recently added NPP. I have been getting hammered with zits but in an odd place. Just along the hairline on the back of my neck! Better than my face for obvious reason but annoying as shit!

My dermatologist gave me a script for a cream I just put on my back. Like you I'm very sensitive and my back explodes. The cream has done wonders in regards to new acne popping up, as for the dark spots I got my back tattooed.

So far so good....I've had no I'll effects that I can feel. Acne is definitely improving. Face and back are 50% better. I'm not seeing anything new pop up. What is there is getting smaller and way less red. If I was taking regular Doxycycline, I would be sick as a dog by now with zero appetite.

I’m sorry I know you said you’ve tried all the otc products but JUST in case have you ever used the benzoyl peroxide soap 10%? I only ask bc the cream, foam, and etc all 10% and all didn’t do anything. But the benzoyl peroxide bar of soap did help a lot. I would use regular body wash and a very hard scrub. Then after lather that soap on and maybe shampoo my hair or something letting it sit. It dried my skin out a little bit but really helped.

I have. I agree..... the bar is much more effective. I still use that once a day. It's seems to have had some effect but the medicine I'm now on is really clearing it up. Hopefully I can just use the soap in a month or so. How do you reach the middle of your back?

I'd recommend checking out acne.org and reading through their protocol. It's very successful, and if you can tolerate benzoyl peroxide, you should find a lot of benefit with that. I personally just use Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash with Salicylic Acid which seems to work pretty well for backne, unless you have a really serious breakout of it.
Hope that helps,

I use a long ass scrub but if it still doesn’t work what I do is when a girl is over I’ll have her actually lather the soap up and apply it to my back. I’ll leave it on my back over night, which is not recommended, and it dries my skin out
