HMG vs HCG simplified definition
HCG is used as the source of luteinizing hormone (LH) bioactivity to stimulate testosterone secretion by Leydig cells, whereas HMG is used as the source of FSH to stimulate the Sertoli cells.

HMG seems harder to obtain and more expensive. Seems to me they both work. I see HMG used in fertility more so.
