Norvasc/Amlodipine
Any of you guys have any experience with this medication as a way to control HBP? Any insight is appreciated.

Yes, it is a calcium channel blocker as MOA. I would ask your MD to prescribe an ARB as a preferred option would be telmisartan. Usually daily 40 mg for 2 weeks than up to 80 mg then on out. The cardiac and metabolic advantages for AAS users especially make this a preferred anti hypertensive medication.

Is that the Victor Black protocol? Telmisartan must be diagnosed much differently than amlodipine as I’m only in 5 mg a day and seeing modest results, along with Cialis. What do you mean by “then on out”? Aren’t these meds essentially for life, particularly if you’re on gear?

I’m on it, have been for awhile. It worked at lowering my blood pressure. My doc has me on 5mg a day. Maybe talk to your doc about increasing it?

Thanks. I’m going to. Also, going to inquire about an ARB.

We usually start at 5 mg day then 10 and max at 10 mg 2x a day with amlodipine. Telmsartan is preferred, not just any ARB as there are many. Most people respond well at 40 mg day for a couple weeks then need the dose doubled to 80 mg day… not everyone. There are many other contributing factors that can accelerate and decelerate clinical pathology. Try telmsartan, it is a superior drug than amlodipine without reviewing your medical records, this is an armchair recommendation, but likely as good as most md would prescribe.
