      Carb cycling- Help

Any of you bros have success with a carb cycling diet?

. As a competitive powerlifter trying to shred down a weight class this sounds like the way to go.

I’m currently eating about 2500 cals and lift 4x a week. Three days are heavy squat/bench/dead and one is my upper body “bro day”

I was thinking about dropping the cals to 2000 max and just hitting my protein goal on off days.
Moderate cals 2750 ish on arm day
And 3000 on the heavy squat/bench/dead

Will likely up the carbs by using preworkout muffins, Gatorade Intra workout, upping the rice for the pre training beef meals and adding oats to breakfast

      How’s that sound?

I think that’s very smart dropping or greatly reducing carbs on off days, that’s how I structure my offseason and prep. Usual carb cycle has a low, medium and high day is that what you were thinking of just staggering between your workout days and off day nutrition ?

Ideally I just want to be eating a much as absolute possible on my three main training days. They are each or equal importance to my total in competition. So I guess it would be modified from the traditional carb cycle. The other day I lift (my upper body bodybuilder day) is more for fun and to balance out the upper/ lower split and provide extra attention to muscle groups that didn’t get hit hard that week.
I’d still like to eat more than the off days, but it doesn’t have to be quite as high.

I am also going to start implementing another cardio session on the days I don’t lift before bed of time allows. I’m currently doing fasted am cardio 5-6 times a week, and don’t really want to add more on the lifting days.

Something else I may look into further down the diet is some sort of fasting on the three off days. This will allow for more fasted cardio sessions and lower the weekly deficit without taking away from the workout day nutrition as performance is more or a priority than muscle building.

My morning weight is also down to 225lbs and there’s still 9 weeks left till the competiton. If I can get the diet spot on And drop at least 2lbs a week and then Id be within a small water cut range to actually skipping the 220 class and weighing in a jacked tan 198 and then hitting the platform the next day a nice full 210+

That’d be hella cool. Even if the strength is affected more it’d be damn sweet to go from competing at 250-198 in 4 months.
