We did and were told she couldn’t.. however we were given the paperwork for my girls dad to fill out. Stating they’re separated and getting divorced and that he pays her $1800 a month... plus she’s on his shitty insurance, which will be no more obviously after the divorce gets finalized... but they don’t cover but 11 days in facility care... which she used up during her month stay after her small stroke... so basically, if I understood everything correctly, we are/were laying ground work to pick right up when she gets cut off... I’m hoping I understood correctly anyway...

She’s in a bad way... her memory is crap.. she’s always talking rambling nonsense and can’t get anything out in a hurry... she’s never following the conversation...

I hate to admit this but I’m thinking to put a monitoring camera up in her room. We just got her a life alert necklace to wear... but that women will stay on the ground after she falls for days... no meds, no food, she’s a diabetic so no insulin...... we can’t do the guessing game if she’s not answering the phone because she’s asleep or if she’s fallen again... is this not a good idea? Obviously it’s my girls phone I’d have it hooked up too. Definitely not mine to be respectful obviously of a grown women’s privacy... plus it’s her mother... I brought it up when I was there and she was fine with the idea.. but that was in that moment... she can’t remember shit.. my girl wants to do it..

It’s a call for lift assistance anyway... she weighs 250lbs, I can lift her, but it causes her pain when I lift her from under her arms... she can’t or won’t bend her knees to put her feet under her... which pisses me off... I’m not tall enough to lift her high enough to get her to her feet by way of lifting.... it takes 6 firemen to do it, but it’s obvious they know how to lift without to much pressure digging into one spot on her body... but after they get her into a chair she fucking stands up and can use the walker...

Anyway I better jam over there... hopefully get this done, her fed and get her into bed so I can get to the gym and relax tonight... my girl is taking over starting tomorrow though.. so it’ll be a good switch/break for me so I can try to conjure options... she just needed some time to gather herself and reset her emotions to better be there for her mom...

Thats totally understandable.

A camera is an idea. Get a little nanny cam? Something she probably wont notice. Not like youre spying. Just making sure she is okay.

She has early onset dementia.

There has to be some home care or something you guys can get help with. Or looks like, shes going to be moving in with you.

Once they hit that stage, youve lost them as who they once were and now, you have to take care of them. Its going to be rough. There was a member here whos mother in law, same thing. And it was putting a lot of stress on their marriage. So, make sure, youre their for your girl, help when you can, get help when you can afford it.

But look into some funding. Some alternative medication and a support system. Is your girl a only child?

Yeah I was afraid of that’s what was starting to happen... financially we won’t be able to swing that type of care... so we will definitely need to figure out the funding options... more will be revealed I’m hoping... just gotta keep putting irons in the fire and see what shakes out...

She may as well be an only child... her brother is dull as a cucumber and just barely finally got a job... that he specifically moved from California to North Dakota for... just about a month ago... so just in time for a winter lol... to work an oil rig... but I believe he’s like a legit ssi collecting, not all there type... 30ish years old... so basically will be of no help...

And the worst time to start oil field work. Ive lived in ND for a little. One night, actual temperatures were -70. My ex husband had to work in that. I dont think he enjoyed that night much lol. The adverage night, with windchill, looking at -30 - -50°.

And so, since he seems useless, this all falls onto your girl. I hope you guys figure something out.

Lol yup you totally got the point his thinking isn’t very reliable

I believe we will... it’s just honestly a bunch of emotions rolled into one and we together can get this ironed out.. I’m thinking prioritizing getting her into a care facility is number one... relieve the whole portion of stressing if she’s ok or not day to day... figure out that financial side in the meantime... I’m going to put pressure on the husband to eat more of the costs...

I truly appreciate the feedback and thoughts during this... it actually has helped and I see how getting it out off the chest does help... I’m typically one to just compound and bottle everything up until I finally snap..

During my hike today I felt a solid game plan develop ;0) we shall see how it pans out

Slammed out a killer hike this morning... was super cold though and it was overcast and foggy... I almost thought I’d need to stop to get a fire going before heading back... I just cut out snack time to no snacks and kept moving so I wouldn’t cool down more than I had too.. I’m feeling the hike now though... I imagine tomorrow I’ll be feeling it proper...

Got back and washed up quick and headed off for a massage...

Then I treated myself to a big breakfast as by then I was starving.

Got chores done, groceries bought and decided to head off with my girl to the corn maze and pumpkin patch out at the ranch.. got me a 40lb pumpkin for $9 and literally guessed its weight.. almost talked the owner into giving it to me free of charge for guessing the weight lol.. he wised up though and decided I had to pay anyway ;0)

Sat down for some bomb ass bacon wrapped chicken and twice baked potato... pretty mellow and much needed break today...

I’ll be hitting the gym tomorrow because Monday is full blood donation after work..
