      Protein Powder?

Recently I switched up my diet and I'm already down 15lbs in a good way. One thing I did was dropped the protein powder and bars ect. I get all my nutrition from meats/eggs and raw vegetables/fruits. I always felt the protein supp didn't help me personally but more hindered my weight goals. BUT, what about using bcaa? I have in the past cause I was told to but truth be told I'm very ignorant to what for. They are the building blocks for protein correct? So if I put it in my water jug and sip all day, what is the benefits overall? Fyi I'm also on trt which will facilitate any nutrients I feed my body.

I like EEA’s pre workout and BCAA’s intra(during) workout. They do have calories but are minimal. I will not use if I’m doing fasted cardio in the AM because it defeats the purpose. If you have the money you might as well try and experiment.

Are they really worth supplementing or is just a nutrient dense diet better? I'm trying to wrap my head around the health/hypertrophy benefits. I'm completely in the dark with this subject

Whole Foods are always best while dieting for weight loss. Supplements tend to not fill the void(aka stomach) as far as satiation. They do help though. Like I said, if you have the money, they work great. Using them properly is the key otherwise they would be a waste of money. Think of EEAS as a helper of building muscle tissue and bcaas providing extra energy during training sessions. All supplements are controversial but they are necessary for me personally. I mainly only use Whey Isolate(which has bcaas+glutamine), EEAS, and BCAAS, and creatine. I also am a fan of carb powders when needed. I love cottage cheese at nighttime. IMO Whole foods are always best and supplements come second. I like NowSports Essential 9 EEA powder, it’s plain and I can change the flavor. Hope it helps.

There's some been some new scientific research on the roles that bcaas and eaas
play when combined with the one another.
Early indicators are that eaa's are a catalysts if you will...for bcaas to be an effective tool in building and or preserving muscle tissue.
You would do yourself a huge favor by looking into this new research.
It is suggested that BCAAs alone might actually even be catabolic.

Good info, thanks guys. I'm gonna read some more studies, very interesting about combining the two. Been doing this over 20 years and always thought it was a gimmick
