Enigma's Final 50's log.
Figure I'll contribute a log. This one is for ultimately the Masters Nationals or the North American. But the beginning here is a 14 week windup for an NPC show in the USA. I thought my contest in Mexico was adequate to qualify me for the North American but "last year" is now 2019...so I need to do a show prior to the Nationals.
I say Final 50's because this is it for this decade. At 56, competing against guys even 6 years younger is tough. After this season I will get some surgeries I need to repair and go on and if I can keep it together for another few years, I might come back and compete in my 60's.
Yesterday I started at the gym again after a 30 day lay off in hopes my joints could rest and heal. Based on yesterday's workout, it didn't happen. The show goes on...
Stats:
5'8" 213 lbs, unknown body fat but I would guess in the 14-15% range. I usually don't get this fat but I did a bulk the last few months and ate 50% more carbs than usual and 25% more protein and fats.
I competed in 2018 at 191 lbs and was slightly less muscular than I am now. Additionally, I didn't train legs during these last months due to ongoing ortho issues. I will resume training legs during this prep. My legs respond very quickly so I will be fine if my joints hold up.
Diet:
5/1 rotation of low carb and no carb days.
5 Days of:
Breakfast: 10 eggs whites and 40 grams of oats. Fired in Mac nut oil with a handful of spinach.
Mid meal: Shake of 50g whey isolate, 1 1/2 T peanut butter, spoon fun of fiber and raw cacao.
Lunch: 160g of chicken breast, 120g of Kirkland brown rice quinoa RTE (30g net carbs)
Post work out: Shake, same as before
Dinner: Same as lunch
Before bed: 10 egg whites fried in Mac nut oil
Then 1 day of:
Breakfast: 5 whole eggs and 5 whites cooked in Mac nut oil
Mid meal: Same shake as always
Lunch: 160g of chicken and 40 grams of raw almonds
Post work out: Shake
Dinner: Same as lunch
Before bed: 5 whole eggs and 5 egg whites cooked in Mac nut oil.
Once a week I will eat one "cheat meal" of whatever I want.
Then begin rotation again. This rotation adjusts according to progress and proximity to show.

Workout:
I won't bore you with my daily routines. I won't be doing any cross tension band kettle bell cross overhead burpees or any of those complicated routines you youngsters seem to favor. I will just be doing what has worked for me forever and will add a few isolation exercises as I get closer to the show.
For example was International Chest day. I did:
4 sets of some chest press machine to 10 reps or close. Unknown weight.
4 sets of Hammer Strength iso incline with 2-45s and a 25.
4 sets of dumbbell flyes
4 sets of the old Bodymaster seated extension machine. (I tried to read the actual nameplate but I can't see in the gym without my glasses.)
4 sets of tricep cable press downs.
I change my shit up week to week to hopefully keep the muscles guessing.
My rotation is:Chest/tris, Back/forearms, legs, shoulders, bi's and tri's. I work out 5x week and try to put a few days between push pull movements.
I am currently doing 30 minutes recumbent bike at 120bpm. This will go up to an hour in two weeks.
Drugs:
350 Sust350 and 200 Deca E3D. 2iu of HGH per day, pinned in the morning (so far).
At the 8 week mark I will go to 250 test E, 50 Tren a, 100 Mast prop EOD.
I will be adding in some T3 or T4 and clen soon but I like to ease my body into things by not shotgunning the drugs all at once.
I won't be doing any front loading, back loading, side stepping, shelving or any of these other things I still can't wrap my head around.
Guys who have been following along with me know I am all about diet and training with a small emphasis on gear. I prefer lower range dosing, now am a proponent of no prophylactic use of AIs or caber.
It is pretty hard playing at the game in your 50's. I am just glad I get to do it still.

I use about 16mgs every 3 days or so prophylactically for BP. No issues. Don’t want them. Have you tried Yohimbine? I made a couple gallons of it and would be great if I could use instead of the thyroid or Clen.

I added 20mcg of Clenbuterol yesterday. Will go up to 40 next week if tolerated well.
I am sore as hell and also am reminded of how awesome it is for my wife to do my injections and what a PITA it is to self inject. I’ve got no less than 8 more before she gets back from holiday. Ugh!
