Alternative Grip Benching
Guys wanted to get your thoughts. I have torn and had surgery on both my rotator cuffs. From heavy benching. As such have not benched in awhile. Mostly have been using heavy dumbells, pec dec or hammer machines. I miss benching and ordered a bar from Titan fitness which will allow me to use a neutral grip like I do with dumbells. Think this is ok or am I asking for problems?

If when you bench using this grip feels comfortable and doesn't bring you any pain then it's your winner. No where is it written you must do xyz exercise to build muscle. You will still make gainz brother, do you have a crazy long wait time on your bar?

Just ordered today. I hope to get shipping details this week. Said bar was in stock so hoping it comes in a week or so. I want to do the strong man 5x5 training program I saw on forum and they really suggest benching over dumbells. Until then will continue to be careful and do chest like I have been.

Titan ships very fast. I believe I have the bar your speaking up and I love the shoulder relief it provides. Neutral grip or angled grip with 3 options per side?

I have had two shoulder surgeries and I had to stop heavy bench pressing. I have to go with lighter weights and higher reps now. It only affects my benching. Keep your rotator cuff strong by doing external rotations. Very important. Do whatever grip feels good for you. I switch between neutral grip and overhand grip. Straight bars and dumbells. Deca help a lot with shoulders even at very ,low dose. Good luck

I agree with dumb bells too
You’ll get more of a individual feel on each shoulder.
One may not be up to the task that the other could and that’s totally okay
