      Calves Growth

Growth against which type of sacrifices,
Is it seated elevations or standing, heavy weights, or small reps to failure, how much recovery time, and how many Times a week (a day?)
With which ones of those you had results with ?

What type of work is required to overcome genetics

I would say consistent work more so than the specific methods since lots of different things work for different people.

Your calves will be dictated primarily by your genetics~ having said that train it like any other stubborn muscle group.. 2-3x a week, heavy weights with 12-15 reps per set. I'm a big believer in pumping lots of blood into the muscle during workouts for hypertrophy by doing high volume work. My personal calf routine is standing calf raises on the smith machine working up from 135 to 365 then seated calf raises with top set being a drop set 3x.. Stretching calves between each set on a block is something I've done since I started training (learned from the pro's at my gym) and it works really well

I have had most success with cadence. 3 sec stretch in the lower 5 sec in the up position. Load the plates and go

I have crap calf genetics and what works well for me is to do my reps a certain way:
      • press yourself up
      • pause at the top for 1 sec
      • lower slowly half-way down
      • pause for 1 sec at the mid-point
      • lower slowly to the stretch position and hold for 1 sec

For some this works really well for my calves.

When you say consistent work, you are referring to how many times a week?
I tried it all, trying to look for some help here

Yes sir. I should check my measurements again. I think I put at least an inch on them.

Calves.. legs, period. I’m 6.3 and top heavy as hell! I train legs 3 times a week..

Monday- back day but I hit leg extensions and machine leg press supersets with calves extensions
Wedsday- rack dead’s, leg curls, calf extensions (biceps and triceps)
Friday- legs legs legs! Heavy and hard!

yet, still slow growth.. pure genetics, everyone in my family is tall and top heavy.

I had the most growth with hitting calves from all three angles (toes straight, toes out and toes in)
